 Iraqi FM discusses cooperation with Germany

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, discussed cooperation in various fields with Germany, during his meeting with members of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU), according to a press statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The statement elaborated that Hussein’s meeting with the German MPs took place on the sidelines of the 59th Munich Security Conference (MSC).

The Iraqi minister thanked the German side for their contribution to eliminating the terrorist groups of ISIS, and reviewed the efforts of the Iraqi government focusing on providing services, developing the economy and enacting important laws, the statement mentioned.

Hussein also talked about Iraq’s keenness to achieve balance in its relations with countries in the region, and to create stability in the current relations between countries.

Hussein discussed the outcomes of Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its first edition held in Baghdad, and the second held in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Hussein stressed the need to activate cooperation with the German side in various sectors, especially the ones related to the economy, energy and the environment, as Iraq is keen on continuing the long-term strategic partnership and cooperation with Germany.

Hussein thanked the German parliament for recognizing the genocide committed by ISIS terrorists against the Yazidis.
