 Iraqi FM discusses Iraqi-Saudi relations in Jeddah

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met on Friday with the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of the consultative ministerial meeting hosted by Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry.

The meeting addressed the bilateral relations between Baghdad and Riyadh and ways to strengthen these relations to serve the interest of the people of both countries, the statement clarified.

Hussein and Farhan discussed regional and international issues of common concern, and the importance of boosting cooperation between the two countries, in a way reflecting the visions of the two countries, the statement revealed.

The two ministers also addressed the efforts of the two countries supporting the joint Arab action to achieve more stability and prosperity for the countries and people of the region, the statement added.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister held separate meetings with the Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi, and Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, on the sidelines of the consultative ministerial meeting in Jeddah.

Hussein arrived on Friday in Jeddah to participate in the ministerial consultative meeting held in Jeddah, with the participation of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt.
