Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Wycombe Wanderers striker Ali Al-Hamadi has signed a permanent deal with AFC Wimbledon for a two-and-a-half-year period.

The adaptable 20-year-old, who made 13 first-team appearances for the Wycombe Wanderers, is seen as a promising young player.

“Ali is a young and hungry centre-forward who has been in and around the first-team all season at Wycombe,” said Johnnie Jackson, AFC Wimbledon’s Football Manager. “He could’ve stayed there but he has showed a desire to get out and show what he can do by playing regular football.”

Iraqi national team player Al-Hamadi was born in Maysan, Iraq, and later migrated to Toxteth in Liverpool. His family relocated in England, where he also started his football career with academy stints at Swansea City and Tranmere Rovers.

Al-Hamadi was also a member of the Iraqi national team’s selection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifications and has earned five caps for that side.

AFC Wimbledon is a London-based English professional football team that competes in the EFL League Two after being demoted from the EFL League One at the conclusion of the 2021–22 season.
