Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, called on Honeywell to take part in the completion of the Basra Refinery.

Al-Sudani’s remarks took place on Wednesday during a meeting with the President of Honeywell Energy and Sustainability Solutions (ESS), Ken West, and his accompanying delegation in Washington DC, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The meeting addressed cooperation with the company to carry out development projects in the gas industry in Iraq.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed that Iraq is growing its capacity to produce and export petroleum products and continues to provide modern technologies to the oil sector.

Al-Sudani also reaffirmed the government’s willingness to encourage international businesses operating in Iraq by creating the required investment climate and streamlining the necessary procedures.

West conveyed Honeywell’s intention to increase collaboration with the government and the private sector in Iraq.

The president of Honeywell emphasized the company’s willingness to support new city project construction as well as infrastructure projects, such as the Nasiriyah International Airport project and the Baghdad International Airport rehabilitation project, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Under the auspices of the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Iraqi Oil Ministry signed an agreement with Honeywell on Wednesday to enter into a partnership aiming to develop strategic plans for oil fields and associated gas.
