Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, reaffirmed on Monday the government’s commitment to pushing for more financial policy reforms.

Sami’s remarks took place during a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank headed by Winston Cole, Lead Financial Management Specialist, where they reviewed cooperation between Iraq and the World Bank, according to a statement cited by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

The meeting addressed the cooperation program designed to finish the economic reforms that the Iraqi government had approved.

The Iraqi Finance Minister explained that the partnership between the two sides creates a favorable environment for investors and the Iraqi economy.

Sami underlined the Iraqi government’s commitment to maximize the contribution of the private sector to growth and to keep pushing fundamental changes pertaining to monetary and financial policy.

Cole emphasized the World Bank’s intention to maintain working with Iraq and its support for Iraq’s economic reforms, praising the success of the Iraqi economy and its perseverance in fighting the negative effects of global economic fluctuations.
