 Iraqi Interior Minister discusses security with Iranian Police Chief

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, met on Wednesday with the chief of the Iranian Law Enforcement Command, Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan, where they discussed security issues, the state news agency (INA) reported.

A statement issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior mentioned that Al-Shammari and his accompanying delegation, during their visit to Iran, met with Radan, where they discussed several important issues, including the security preparations for the coming religious occasions.

The meeting addressed the extradition of criminals and combating drugs and psychotropic substances, the statement illustrated.

The Iraqi Interior Minister commended the Iranian side’s response to the topics discussed during the meeting, including the extradition of criminals and the identification of places on the Iraqi-Iranian borders where infiltration and smuggling take place, according to the statement.

Both Al-Shammari and Radan stressed the importance of controlling the borders, the statement clarified.

Al-Shammari also valued the great experience of the Iranian police forces, stressing that there is an agreement to exchange experiences between the police of the two neighboring countries, the statement added.
