Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The President of Iraq Football Association (IFA), Adnan Darjal, announced earlier in October that the Iraqi team will play three international friendly matches in Basra and Spain.

Darjal mentioned during a conference that the Iraqi national football team will play a friendly match against the Mexican team on November 9, and a friendly match with the Ecuadorian team on November 12.

Darjal indicated that the third friendly match will be against Costa Rica on November 17 and will take place in the city of Basra.

The draw of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup was held on October 25, in the city of Basra in southern Iraq.

The IFA announced last Wednesday it reached an agreement with the Spanish coach, Jesus Casas, to lead the training of the Iraqi national football team for the next period.

“The coaching staff of the national team will include five assistants chosen by Casas, a goalkeeper coach, a fitness coach, a technical analyst and two assistants,” IFA secretary, Mohammed Farhan, said.

Farhan did not specify the date Casas will take over his mission with the Iraqi team.
