Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – After a disagreement that lasted for weeks, the Iraqi Parliament granted confidence on Saturday to the candidates of the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Construction and Housing, by an absolute majority.

The press office of the Iraqi Parliament announced that the parliament granted confidence to Nizar Muhammad Saeed Amedy as Minister of Environment by an absolute majority, and also to Bankin Abdullah Rikani as Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Work, by an absolute majority as well.

The press office of the Iraqi Parliament confirmed the completion of the government of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, after it won the confidence of Parliament on October 27, with 21 ministries out of 23, and the disagreement remained over the ministries of Environment and Construction.

According to observers, these two ministries are of great importance in terms of the Iraqi government’s response to the environmental, service and demographic challenges and crises facing the country, such as drought, desertification, the spread of slums, overpopulation, and the deterioration of infrastructure both in cities and rural areas.

Al-Sudani, during the presentation of his government’s work program, stressed his commitment to improve and develop services that affect the lives of citizens, address unemployment, reform the economic and financial sectors, and combat corruption.

Perhaps the most difficult issues Al-Sudani’s government faces are corruption and the economic reform.
