Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani, announced on Sunday that the terrorist group of ISIS has been eliminated in Iraq, during a symposium on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich Security Conference (MSC).

Al-Sudani indicated that Iraq needs the assistance of the international community to arrest terrorists outside Iraq and to prevent their financing.

“Corruption in Iraq threatens development and reconstruction plans, and part of the corruption finances terrorism,” Al-Sudani said during the symposium.

“Our forces are able to achieve security and stability in Iraq, and our stance is clear that there is no need for combat forces belonging to the international coalition, but we only need advisory missions,” Al-Sudani stated.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also confirmed that Al-Hol camp in Syria causes concern to the Iraqi authorities.

According to the United Nations, more than 55 thousand people live in Al-Hol refugee camp located less than 10 kilometers away from the Iraqi borders.

In addition to foreign families of militants, estimated at about 10 thousand people, the camp also shelters families of displaced Syrians and Iraqis, some of them are still in contact with ISIS.

In 2014, the terrorist group of ISIS took control of large areas in Iraq and Syria before it was defeated in 2017.
