Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and France with the French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The two leaders met on the sidelines of their participation in the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland.

The two parties discussed ways to cooperate in economic issues, enhancing Iraqi military capabilities, putting armament contracts with Thales, a French company, into practice, growing their partnership in the oil and gas industry, and fortifying their various agreements with TotalEnergies and other major French corporations.

The Iraqi Prime Minister indicated that the technical and field capabilities of the Iraqi armed forces have been developed, which paves the way to ending the mission of the international coalition to combat ISIS.

Al-Sudani added that Baghdad will continue security and military cooperation with the countries that supported Iraq in its war against terrorism.

The meeting also addressed the current situation in Gaza and the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people.

The Iraqi Prime Minister called on the international community, including France, to stop the suffering of the Palestinians and stop the Israeli war on Gaza.
