Iraqi PM lays foundation stone for Al-Ghazlani city in Nineveh

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, laid the foundation stone for the city of Al-Ghazlani on Monday after it was made available for investment.
The governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, said in a press statement that the project is very large and will contribute to tackling the housing crisis in the city of Mosul.
Al-Sudani announced the launch of the new Al-Ghazlani residential city project in the northern Iraqi governorate of Nineveh, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The Iraqi cabinet had previously approved the release of the land of Al-Ghazlani Camp for investment, where 3,000 square meters are given to the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and 4,800 square meters are given to the Mosul Municipality to provide plots of land and build residential complexes.
Al-Ghazlani Camp is the oldest and largest Iraqi military camp in the city of Mosul. When ISIS captured the city in 2014, it used Al-Ghazlani Camp as a base camp for its militants.
The Iraqi Prime Minister also inaugurated the Rabia General Hospital in Rabia district in Nineveh governorate, with a capacity of 138 beds.
The hospital was previously damaged during the control of ISIS over Mosul when it was still under construction until it was completed after the liberation of the governorate, at a cost of 23 billion Iraqi dinars (approximately $17.59 million).
