 Iraqi PM meets with US VP and US Congress members in Munich

Iraqi PM Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and US VP Kamala Harris at the Munich Security Conference.

Munich (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and US Vice President Kamala Harris held important talks at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

Both leaders emphasized the need to complete the remaining duties of the US-led Coalition in order to guarantee Iraq’s stability and security. They also discussed the need of continuing communication through the Iraqi-US Higher Military Commission.

In addition to security matters, Prime Minister Al-Sudani and Vice President Harris explored avenues for transitioning to comprehensive bilateral cooperation in economic and developmental fields. Their deliberations aligned with the Strategic Framework Agreement, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing mutual interests and fostering long-term prosperity.

Beyond his meeting with Vice President Harris, Prime Minister Al-Sudani engaged with US Congress members Mike Turner, Mikie Sherrill, Joe Wilson, and Gerry Connolly. The talks centered on strengthening US-Iraqi bilateral collaboration, especially in completing the coalition’s mission in Iraq. In addition, they evaluated ways for advancing Iraq, the US, and other coalition members toward full bilateral ties.
