Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi authorities announced on Monday that the Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, disclosed his financial disclosure for 2023, according to a statement issued by the Federal Commission of Integrity.

The statement mentioned that the concerned department in the Federal Commission of Integrity received the financial disclosure form of Al-Sudani, and he is the first official to submit his financial disclosure form for 2023.

The statement indicated that the Federal Commission of Integrity also received the financial disclosure form of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council and Chief of the Federal Court of Cassation, Faiq Zidan.

The amended law of the Federal Commission of Integrity stipulates that each of the prime minister, his deputies, the ministers, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, judges and members of the public prosecution, must submit their financial disclosure forms.

Al-Sudani was chosen on October 13 to form a new government following a year of division and disagreement between Iraqi political parties.

The Iraqi Parliament granted confidence to the new Iraqi government October 27 during a parliamentary session in which MPs voted on the new cabinet chaired by Al-Sudani.

Since he assumed office, Al-Sudani is trying to combat corruption which affected the economy of the country.
