Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, reviewed on Monday the security cooperation with the Combined Joint Task Force—Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR).

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) mentioned that Al-Sudani received the commander of CJTF-OIR, Joel Vowell, in the presence of the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski.

Both sides reviewed the security cooperation between Iraq and the CJTF-OIR within the framework of providing advice, armament, exchanging intelligence information, and training the Iraqi security forces to raise their combat capabilities.

The meeting focused on the continuation of the work of the joint committee between Iraq and the CJTF-OIR, which was formed following the visit of the security delegation headed by the Iraqi Minister of Defense, Thabet Al-Abbasi, to the United States last August.

The visit aimed at identifying the scope of the future relationship with the CJTF-OIR after Iraq’s victory over the ISIS terrorists and the growing capabilities of the Iraqi forces, which enabled them to provide security in all areas of Iraq.
