 Iraqi PM, US Secretary of State discuss bilateral ties

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, emphasized on Tuesday Iraq’s firm stances towards regional and international security and economic challenges, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.

The statement revealed that Al-Sudani received a phone call from the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, where they discussed the bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States and ways to strengthen these relations at various levels and in different fields.

Al-Sudani and Blinken talked about the Iraqi government’s efforts related to economic reform and diversification of development sources, the statement explained.

The Iraqi Prime Minister and the US Secretary of State also discussed the performance of the Iraqi security forces in pursuing remnants of terrorist groups, and the role of the US side in assisting in the field of military advice and training, the statement elaborated.

Al-Sudani affirmed Iraq’s firm stances on security and economic challenges, both at the regional and international levels, and the Iraqi role in enhancing the policy of dialogue to resolve differences.
