Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, visited the Saudi region of Jazan on Monday to review industrial, agricultural, and irrigation projects.

Rashid was accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein; the Iraqi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Safia Al-Suhail; the Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Al-Qasabi; and the Saudi Ambassador to Iraq, Abdul-Aziz Al-Shammari, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency.

A celebration was held at the Agricultural Research Center in Jazan, where the Governor of Jazan, Prince Muhammad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, gave the Iraqi President a booklet of a report he wrote in 1984 when he was an engineer and director of the Jazan Valley Dam project.

In 1984, the Iraqi President was responsible for the construction of dams and facilities, the utilization of agricultural lands, and water management in the Jazan Valley Dam project.

Rashid also met with friends and colleagues who worked with him on the Jazan Valley Dam project more than 30 years ago, expressing his happiness and joy to meet his old friends.

The Iraqi President highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise between Iraq and Saudi Arabia to serve the interests of the people of both countries.
