Iraq’s diabetes rate ranks 12th globally, 5th among Arab nations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The alarmingly high rate of diabetes in Iraq has been made known by a recent research by the International Diabetes Federation. Iraq now has the 12th-highest diabetes rate in the world, according to the list, with a rate of 10.7%. Iraq is fifth among Arab nations in terms of the high rate of diabetes.

Millions of people worldwide have been impacted by the global diabetes epidemic, which has become a rising cause for worry. The 10.7% diabetes incidence in Iraq is a serious health issue that the country has to address. Diabetes is a chronic disease that, if not well treated, can cause serious health problems.

With a rate of 30.8%, Pakistan has the highest rate of diabetes in the world, closely followed by Kuwait with 24.9%. Egypt, Qatar, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia also make the list, with diabetes rates of 20.9%, 19.5%, 19%, and 18.7%, respectively.

The high incidence of diabetes in Iraq and the Arab world emphasizes the need for more public awareness, healthcare resources, and educational programs to address this escalating health concern.
