Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Budoor Residential Complex in Baghdad, Iraq, recently broke ground, and the Iraqi design company Manhal Habbobi Consultants has released its plans.

The housing project, which will be built in four parts, is expected to house 50,000 Iraqi citizens and expats, including staff from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. It will function as a personal, independent, and stand-alone area.

On the 4,000,000 square meter site, there will be 8,000 residential units, a mall, dining establishments, a medical facility, a library, commercial areas, a school, and open parkland.

Due to housing constraints and the ongoing construction boom in Iraq, the project is now coming to fulfillment.

According to Manhal Habbobi Consultants, the residential areas are comprised of dwellings with orthogonally shaped designs that occupy the rectilinear grid system.

“Our approach to solid-void relationships in urban space is to create a grid that is both rational and dynamic,” said Manhal Habbobi, Founder of Manhal Habbobi Consultants. “It’s a fundamental element of our vision for the complex.”

The large-scale project is close to the American University of Iraq and is less than five kilometers from Baghdad International Airport.
