 Ministry of Construction begins trial of Al-Kut Water Project

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Al-Kut Water Project in Wasit Governorate is now in its trial operating phase, according to Iraq’s Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Public Municipalities. As of as now, 98% of the Al-Kut Water Project is finished.

At a cost of roughly 102 billion Iraqi dinars, the project provides 300,000 residents of Al-Kut and other regions in the governorate with a production capacity of 10,000 m3/hour of drinkable water.

The project is currently in the initial receiving phase, according to Engineer Ammar Al-Jubouri, General Manager of the General Directorate of Water. A joint committee made up of representatives from the General Directorate of Water, Wasit Water Directorate, Resident Engineer’s Directorate, and the executing company has been formed to begin analyzing and monitoring the guidelines for obtaining the project to the Wasit Water Directorate.

The project is being constructed on a 110 dunum plot of land, and it contains of water intake sites, the primary filtration station, filters, buildings for energy and chemicals, a ground tank, and other sites. The project will help meet the needs of the local population for drinking water that is of a high caliber and meets industry standards.
