Najaf to build $50m Industrial City

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) – As part of its post-war reconstruction plans, Iraq has authorized a project to establish a sizable new industrial city at an estimated cost of $50 million. The Najaf Investment Commission has already chosen a contractor after receiving cabinet permission.

The construction project would focus on sectors including lubricants, glass, detergents, and petrochemicals. This project is expected create 5,000 jobs for Iraqi locals.

The proposed industrial city, which will be finished in two years, will contain companies that are prohibited from being close to residential areas due to environmental concerns.
