Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Commander of Allied Joint Force Command in Naples, Admiral Stuart Munsch, praised on Monday the military capabilities of the Iraqi security forces during his meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, in Baghdad, according to a press statement issued by the Prime Minister’s press office.

The statement mentioned that Munsch was accompanied by the Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq (NMI), Lieutenant General Giovanni Iannucci, and other NATO officers.

Al-Sudani expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the NMI that support Iraq in the fight against terrorism by providing training to the Iraqi security forces, the statement elaborated.

Al-Sudani stressed Iraq’s commitment to the partnership with NATO and its keenness to sustain joint work, the statement explained.

The Iraqi Prime Minister talked about the importance of Iraq’s security as it is reflected on the security of the region and the world, the statement clarified.

Al-Sudani indicated that the Iraqi security forces reached an advanced stage in their ability to combat terrorism.

Munsch emphasized the commitment of the NATO to enhance the capabilities of the Iraqi security forces by strengthening Iraqi security institutions and training Iraqi officers, the statement added.

Munsch also indicated the distinguished level of coordination between the NATO commanders and their Iraqi counterparts.
