Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Attacks occurred early in the morning today on the US Embassy in Baghdad. Up to ten missiles were fired toward the Baghdad Green Zone, with several of them aimed at the US Embassy compound. Near the embassy, sirens have been triggered.

There have been unsubstantiated reports that Iranian proxies in Iraq fired the rocket missiles.

It is noteworthy that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Al-Sudani spoke over the phone last week about Iraq’s obligation to protect all US personnel facilities.

Blinken emphasized that the Iraqi government must actively pursue those responsible for attacks on US soldiers within its borders.

Al-Sudani, on the other hand, underlined throughout the conversation that Iraq’s sovereignty was violated by the US bombardment event in Jurf al-Nasr and reiterated Iraq’s steadfast rejection of any attack on its territory.
