Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Saudi Ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari, announced on Sunday that Saudi Arabia signed a contract with Iraq to build a mega project near Baghdad International Airport. The huge project is worth approximately $1 billion.

The project is called Baghdad Avenue and is expected to be the largest shopping mall in Iraq.

Baghdad Avenue will include coffee shops, restaurants and commercial business offices, in addition to 4,000 apartments and 2,500 villas.

Al-Shammari explained that the visit of King Salman Medical Center’s team to Baghdad to exchange experiences between Iraqi and Saudi doctors reflects the strength of relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Ambassador elaborated that there will be economic and cultural meetings between both countries in the coming period.

“We promise our Iraqi brothers that the next stage will witness great momentum in terms of the activities taking place between the two countries,” said Al-Shammari.
