 Standard Chartered hires a new CEO for Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Jamil Choucair was named the new CEO of Standard Chartered Iraq, according to a statement released by Standard Chartered.

With more than 25 years of banking expertise in the Middle East, Choucair spent 8 of those years as the general manager and country head of Audi Bank Iraq in Iraq. Additionally, Choucair has had a number of executive roles at Banque Libano-Francaise, Bank of Syria and Overseas, BLOM Bank, and Saudi Lebanese Bank.

Since 2013, Standard Chartered has been conducting business in Iraq under the permission of the Central Bank of Iraq through its Standard Chartered Bank Iraq Branch organization. The Bank offers banking services to major corporations, financial institutions, foreign businesses doing business in Iraq, and entities that are sovereign or connected to the government.
