Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – During the month of August, US Central Command, along with coalition and other partners, conducted a total of 36 operations in Iraq and Syria against ISIS remnants, in which seven ISIS operatives were killed and 25 detained.

A statement issued by the US Central Command (USCENTCOM) on Friday mentioned that these operations showcase the enduring commitment of the United States to the lasting defeat of ISIS to preserve regional security and stability.

The operations in August included 28 joint operations in Iraq, which led to the killing of six ISIS members and the arrest of 18 others, while the operations in Syria resulted in the killing of an ISIS member and the arrest of seven others.

“Our partnership with the Iraqi Security Force and Syrian Democratic Forces continues to be focused on the defeat of ISIS and the enduring threat they present,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM commander.

Kurilla added that the US and its partners remain committed to aggressively engaging with ISIS to provide security in both Iraq and Syria.
