 ZainCash Iraq ranks 14 in Forbes Middle East Top 30 Fintech Companies

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi fintech, Iraq Wallet For Payment (ZainCash Iraq), was ranked 14 in a list of the Middle East’s top 30 fintechs for 2023 published by Forbes.

Iraq Wallet For Payments is owned by March Holding and runs as ZainCash Iraq thanks to a collaboration with Zain Group.

Led by ZainCash’s CEO, Yazen Altimimi, Iraq Wallet provides individuals, SMEs, major businesses, humanitarian organizations, and governmental bodies with current accounts, international and local money transfers, bill payments, cash-in/out, mobile recharge, and QR payments.

With 10,000 agents spread across over Iraq, ZainCash has 252,000 active users. In 2022, it handled deals of $1.4 billion. 

The Iraqi fintech assisted the Iraqi government in providing $100 million in monetary aid to a million households during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

With eight entries, Egypt has the most countries represented on the list, followed by Saudi Arabia with six, the United Arab Emirates with five, and Kuwait with four. Iraq, Morocco, and Bahrain each had one entry.
