(IraqiNews.com) US President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that rise of ISIS was unintended consequence of the George W. Bush’s invasion of Iraq in 2003, and stressed that terrorism should not be countered separately from diplomacy, development and investment.

Obama said in an interview with the American newspaper ‘Newsmax’ followed by IraqiNews.com, “ISIS is a direct outgrowth of al-Qaeda in Iraq that grew out of our invasion. Which is an example of unintended consequences. Which is why we should generally aim before we shoot.”

Obama continued, “We’ve got a 60 country coalition. We will slowly push back Isis out of Iraq…I’m confident that will happen,” adding that the main problem lies in the “young disaffected Sunnis” who grow with no education and future opportunities.
