Israeli woman travels through Iraq to help Kurdish fighters in Kobani

(IraqiNews.com) Israel Radio reported on Monday, that a Canadian-born woman who emigrated to Israel and served in its military has now joined the paramilitary Kurdish Peshmerga to fight the ISIS group in northern Syria.

The Israel Radio reported that a 31 year-old woman from Tel Aviv contacted the Kurdish militia over the internet before traveling through Iraq to join one of the training camps on the Syrian border. According to Reuters, the woman felt she could contribute from her military experience and help the Kurds in their fight against ISIS militants in Kobani.

“They are our brothers. They are good people. They love life, a lot like us, really.” she told Israel Radio.
