(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Two car bombs attacks have hit police stations in separate cities in Turkey, killing eleven persons and wounding at least 226 others.

The first attack targeted a police station in the city of Van, killing one police officer and two civilians, as well as wounding 73 persons. Another attack was launched on the police station in the city of Elazig, killing at least three police officers and wounding 217 persons.

Less than four hours later, a roadside bomb exploded targeting a military vehicle in Hizan district in Bitlis province.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said, “There was no doubt they were carried out by militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK),” adding that, “The [PKK] terror group has lost its chain of command. Its elements inside [Turkey] are carrying out suicide attacks randomly wherever they get the opportunity.”

Yildirim also vowed to fight the PKK and said, “No terror organization will force this nation to cow in submission.”

Fighting between the PKK and Turkey’s security forces resumed last year after a fragile peace process collapsed. Since then, more than 600 Turkish security personnel and thousands of PKK militants have been killed.
