Ashur rules out holding national meeting

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Consultant of the Iraqiya Slate Hani Ashur ruled out “Holding the national meeting which the President, Jalal Talabani, called for since about a year.”

In a press statement, Ashur confirmed that “Talabani’s return to Baghdad will not establish the preparations for holding the national meeting,” noting that “The disputes are still going on even inside the Iraqi National Alliance.”

“There is nothing called Reforms Proposal at all as it is tackled by the media outlets,” he added.

“The crisis may witness escalation because of the absence of real intentions to accomplish the reforms and lack of trust among the political sides which is required for preparing for the national meeting,” he concluded.
