(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The Armed Services Committee in the US Congress announced Wednesday, omitting the item categorizing the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and the Sunni tribes as “states” in the draft defense budget law.

The official Iraqi channel quoted in flash news the Armed Forces Committee as saying, “The item describing the Peshmerga and the Sunni tribes as stated was omitted from the draft defense budget law.”

The Armed Services Committee in the US House of Representatives passed on May 1st, 2015 the project law put forward by its member Mac Thornberry; it imposes conditions for the allocation of US military assistance to Iraq worth $715 million from the defense budget for 2016.
