KR Presidency: Barzani’s visit to Russia not to purchase weapons

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Presidency of Kurdistan Region denied that the recent visit of KR President, Masoud Barzani, to Russia was to purchase weapons from Russia.

The spokesperson of the KR Presidency office, Omid Sabah, said on Wednesday “The news that were reported by some media outlets which announced that the aim of Barzani’s visit to Russia was to purchase weapons are groundless, since the visit was conducted according to an official invitation aiming to develop the political and economic relations between KR and Russia, along with discussing the general situations in Iraq and the region.”
