Maliki agrees to linger JAC’s procedures against university professors
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, agreed upon lingering the procedures of the Justice and Accountability Commission against a number of University Professors.
A statement by the office of The Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying “The University Professors represent a leading part for the scientific activities in the country,” noting that “We do appreciate Maliki’s quick response in this regard.”
“Maliki’s agreement comes due to a request submitted by a number of University Professors to Mutleg’s office,” the statement added, stressing that “Mutleg, in his turn, suggested lingering the JAC procedures till amending this law.”
Earlier, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research decided to implement the JAC procedures against 140 professors.
