Maliki demands United Nations support of Iraqi battle against terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, called the United Nations’ Security Council to issue a statement that supports the battle of Iraq against terrorism.

The Presidency of the Council of Ministries reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”Maliki hosted the Ambassadors and the Chairmen of diplomatic missions to Iraq at his office in Baghdad on Tuesday.”

”Maliki explained the nature of battle against terrorism and assured that Iraq is fighting on behalf of the whole world,” the statement added.”During the meeting, Maliki praised the united international stances that support Iraq and demanded the Security Council to issue a statement that supports the battle of Iraq against terrorism in order to warn states that promote such terrorists since it disturbs the international security and stability,” the statement concluded.
