Maliki heads to America in official visit

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, and his accompanying delegation traveled from Baghdad heading towards the United States of America within five days state visit.

Maliki’s media office reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ”The Iraqi Premier will meet the US President, Barak Obama, and his Deputy, Joe Badin, in addition to senior officials in the US Government.”

”Maliki will discuss with Obama the means of promoting bilateral relations and increasing the cooperation prospects within the strategic framework convention, that was singed between Iraq and USA, in order to support Iraq in combating terrorism,” the statement added.

“The accompanying delegation of Maliki composes of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, the Acting Minister of Defense, Sa’adon al-Duliami, MPs and several advisors,” the statement pointed out.

The US White House announced that the US President, Barak Obama, will meet the Iraqi Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, on November 1st, 2013.
