Maliki, Iranian MoD stress mutual cooperation to confront terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Iranian Minister of Defense, Ahmed Wahidi, stressed the necessity of consolidating the mutual cooperation between the two countries to sustain regional security and to confront terrorism.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki received Wahidi and confirmed that Iraq is seeking good relations with all countries especially the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

“Maliki assured that the regional updates require more coordination and understanding to protect the region from the challenges,” the statement added.

“Wahidi emphasized the Iranian side’s readiness to cooperate with Iraq in all fields to serve the stability in the region,” the statement concluded.
