(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – State of Law Coalition President Nouri al-Maliki has ‘called’ for early elections in Iraq, which he felt, is a way to get out of the current political crisis. He further hoped to receive majority during the elections and called for the formation of a joint supreme body to strengthen relations between Iraq and Iran.

Maliki, during an interview with IRNA, Iran’s official news agency, said, “Most of the key issues of the crisis are not on Iraq’s hands as the political situation, in general, is weak. Solution lies with the people and this can be achieved through the electoral process. My suggestion is to hold elections early.”
