Salih, Ahmedinejad’s Assistant discuss historical relations between KR, Iran
Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Barham Salih, discussed with the Ali Said Lo, the Assistant of the Iranian President, Ahmedinejad, for the International Affair, the historical relations between Kurdistan Region and Iran.
A statement by the PUK received by IraqiNews.com cited “Salih met with, at the headquarter of the of the Party’s Political Bureau in the City of Erbil, Said Lo, Hassan Kazemi Qumi head of the Iraq-Iran economic development committee, Hassan Danaeifar Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad and a number of Iranian officials, businessmen and investors.”
“Salih on behalf of President Jalal Talabani, welcomed Said Lo and the delegation accompanied him,” the statement added.
“The two sides, at the meeting discussed historical relations between Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as the joint interests,” the statement pointed out, noting that “Salih and Said Lo stressed the importance to develop bilateral ties especially in the economic, commercial and diplomatic fields.”
“Arsalan Baez, Adnan Mufti, Emad Ahmed, Saadi Pira and Sheikh Jaafar members of the PUK Political Bureau, Fuad Husain Head of Kurdistan Region Presidency Divan, Qubad Talabani, a number of KRG ministers and Nawzad Hadi Erbil Governor attended the meeting,” the statement concluded.
