Shihristani, Italian Deputy FM review ways to develop relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Acting Foreign Minister Hussain al-Shihristani discussed today with Italian Deputy Foreign Ministry the means to enhance bilateral cooperation in all areas, and the situation in Iraq and the region.

A statement by Shihristani’s office received by Iraqi News cited “During his meeting with the Italian official and the accompanied delegation, Shihristani stressed on Iraq’s desire to develop its relations with the Italian side in all areas.”

“He called the UN and the EU to relieve the displaced citizens in Iraq, confirming that the government allocated 500 billion IQD for helping them,” the statement added.

“For his part, the Italian official expressed his country’s support for Iraq to deter terrorism,” the statement concluded. /End/
