Talabani, PM of Kurdistan Region stress need to continue constructive dialogue between Baghdad, Erbil

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President, Jalal Talabani, and the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Nijirvan Barzani, stressed the need to continue the constructive dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “Talabani received Barzani on Thursday in Sulaimaniyah city where they discussed the situation in Iraq, Kurdistan Region and the region in general, as well as the current problems between Baghdad and Kurdistan Region,” the statement added.

The statement added “The two sides stressed the necessity to resort to constructive and frank dialogue between Baghdad and Erbil to solve the problems and develop relations between them,” noting that “Barzani, for his part, briefed results of his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran to Talabani.”

“They also stressed the need to develop coordination and cooperation between the PUK and the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Kurdish parties in order to maintain and develop the Kurdish people achievements,” the statement concluded.
