Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) According to an informed source, the head of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Dr. Riyadh Al-Adhadh was released after he was kidnapped by gunmen from his home overnight.

The source said, in an interview for IraqiNews.com, that “it was the release of the head of the Baghdad Provincial Council Dr. Riyadh Al-Adhadh hours after he was kidnapped.”

The source, who asked not to be named, said “political players made ​​contacts for the release of Dr. Riyadh Al-Adhadh without giving further details.”

A security source said on Friday evening that the militiamen kidnapped the head of the Baghdad Provincial Council from his home in Adhamiya, north of Baghdad, stressing that the security forces carried out raids and searches in search of the kidnappers.

The Baghdad Provincial Council announced the formation of a committee to determine the fate of President of the Council, Dr. Riyadh Al-Adhadh who was taken to an unknown destination since yesterday evening, stressing the communication with the official authorities to see whether Adhadh is “kidnapped” or “detained”.

While the Interior Ministry announced on Saturday the formation of a committee under the supervision of the commander of the Baghdad Operations to investigate the abduction of the President of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Dr. Riyadh Al-Adhadh.
