(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Central Bank of Iraq had sold more than 44 billion US dollars in the foreign currency auction since the beginning of 2015 until Wednesday.

According to the bank’s website, the quantity of foreign currency sold to the banks from the 4th of January until the 30th of December 2015 was amounted to 44,303,799,966 billion US dollars, compared with 51,537,949,000 billion US dollars in the same period last year.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraqi Ali al-Alaq said, that the foreign currency reserves have reached 60 billion US dollars, while pointed out that the amount is enough only for six months and the Central Bank is working on a parallel policy to maintain the overall stability of prices and prevent the inflation.
