Abadi’s office denounces Erbil bombing

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Media Office of the Prime Minister , Haider al-Abadi strongly condemned the suicide bombing in Erbil city in Kurdistan region.

Nearly 30 people were killed and wounded in a suicide bombing that tried to Erbil governorate building.

Rafed al- Jabouri , spokesman of the media Office of the Prime Minister said in an interview with “Shafaq News”, that “We condemn this criminal act, which took place in Erbil. Every terrorist event hurts all Iraqis and confirms the need for unity and facing an enemy that is humane by uniting.”

He added that “all Iraqis are fighting terrorism with defending the land slogan and this unity will win,” he said “We are compassion to the families of the martyrs and the wounded.”

The explosion coincided with holding the Iraqi tribes conference in Erbil for the second day in a row in the presence of a large group of Iraqi Arab, Kurdish, Turkmen and Syriac and tribes.

It is noteworthy that ISIS dominates Mosul city northern Iraq, near Erbil, and threatened to launch attacks on Kurdistan region but largely succeeded until now to avoid slipping into violence cycle.

The last major attack occurred in Erbil over a year ago when militants launched a suicide attack by car bombs at the security headquarters while another explosion took place in August, but no one was hurt. /End/
