Federal government to pay trillion and 200 billion Iraqi dinars to Peshmerga

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Kurdistan’s Prime Minister, Nechirvan Barzani revealed that the central government has agreed to pay trillion and 200 billion Iraqi dinars to the Peshmerga forces, hoping to solve all the problems between the central government and the provincial government.

Barzani said in a press conference with his deputy Qubad Talabani, attended by IraqiNews.com, “The central government has decided to pay trillion and 200 billion dinars to the Peshmerga forces,” noting that, “This amount will be allocated from the budget of the Iraqi defense system.”

Barzani added, “The agreement between Baghdad and Erbil is a win-win situation for the region and Baghdad,” and pointed out that, “The deal is not final.”

Barzani confirmed, “Other issues between the two parties that will be resolved during a six months period or longer,” expressing his hope to solve all the issues between Baghdad and Erbil.

Barzani also said that, “The Iraqi government has a serious desire to find a solution with the region.”

Earlier on Tuesday, an informed source revealed that the Kurdish delegation, headed by Nechirvan Barzani, reached an agreement on the region’s share in the budget and export of oil with the Iraqi government, adding that the region’s share in the budget will be 17%.
