Humanitarian catastrophe awaited in Haditha, says local official

Al-Anbar (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, Deputy President of the Services Committee in Haditha Council has warned from catastrophic consequences awaiting in the district due to complete lack of foodstuffs and oil in the markets.

The deputy president of the committee, Mr. Falah Hamoud stated, “Haditha district is quite hungry due to suspension of civil air bridge between Baghdad and Ain al-Asad airbase, which used to carry food, humanitarian aids to the people.”

Hamoud warned from a humanitarian catastrophe within the next few weeks as food ran out and both foodstuffs and oil prices have increased in the markets.
