Iran to help Iraq in infrastructure reconstruction

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, The President of Iran’s parliament Ali Larijani expressed Iran’s readiness to help Iraq in infrastructure reconstruction after the return of tranquility in the areas affected by the fighting against the ISIS organization, while Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said that Iran is a strong country in the region and the world, calling it to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq.

Larijani said, in a statement to a number of journalists on the sidelines of a meeting with al-Jaafari, that “Tehran will not leave Iraq alone in the campaign against terrorism,” noting that his country is ready to help rebuild the country’s infrastructure in the affected areas after tranquility returns.

For his part, the Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said that, “Iran is a powerful country in the region and the world,” adding that “Iran has a special position in the Iraqi foreign policy.”

Jaafari said that, “The exchange of visits between the Iraqi and Iranian officials will improve mutual relations,” calling Iran to participate in the reconstruction of Iraq.

Jaafari arrived in Tehran on Sunday to participate in the conference of the fight against violence and extremism held in Tehran from the ninth to the tenth of December.
