Iraq to become one of first 5 countries in fields of oil and gas

(IraqiNews.com) On Tuesday, Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi announced that his ministry is working on the development of energy sources and seeking to attract investment under a comprehensive development plan, noting that Iraq will increase oil and gas reserves to become one of the first five countries in the two fields.

Abdul-Mahdi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “Iraq has a big wealth of oil and gas; it was one of the first Arab oil-producing countries in the twenties of last century,” adding that, “The oil ministry is working on the development of energy sources and seeking to attract investment according to a comprehensive development plan, in cooperation and coordination with many countries and international institutions and companies.”

“Iraq will increase oil and gas reserves to become one the first 5 countries in the two fields,” he added.
