(IraqiNews.com) on Thursday, Vice President Nuri al-Maliki denied receiving a phone call from the President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani before ISIS attack on the city of Mosul in June 10, 2014, considering that the concerned authorities in the region carried out a policy of ‘procrastination’ with the leadership of  Mosul operations, which was trying to coordinate joint efforts with the Peshmerga to face the organization.

Maliki’s office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com ” at the time when our armed forces, the federal police and fighters of the popular crowd committed heroic epics in addressing the terrorist organization ISIS and its allies from the Baathists and Nakecbandian, President of Kurdistan, Massoud Barzani announced comments and attitudes to say it’s a practical to mislead public opinion inside and outside Iraq. ”

The office added that ” the recent remarks of Massoud Barzani asserts that he had a certain information about the ISIS creation of military bases in western Mosul; he had told al-Maliki about that information and warned of its great danger and that he had proposed the implementation of a joint military operation with the army and the Peshmerga” .

The office indicated that ” We would like to point out that al-Maliki categorically denies receiving a phone call from Massoud Barzani, before and during ISIS attack on the city of Mosul. He also denies strongly that Barzani had proposed the implementation a joint military operation between the army and the Peshmerga against the organization ISIS.”
