 No Arab military movements near Zubair, says District Council

(IraqiNews.com) Basra – The head of Zubair District Council, Taleb Khalil al-Hassouna, denied that the border guards spotted any military movements by Arab and Gulf forces near the Iraqi border.

Hassouna said in a brief statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “The locak authorities in the district are overseeing interestingly the events of a military training exercise by Arab and Gulf forces near the Iraqi border,” noting that, “The Iraqi border guards did not spot any movements near the Iraqi areas located in Zubair District starting from the area of Safuwan on the Kuwaiti border and ending with the area of Khudr al-Mai on the Saudi border.”

He also added, “The efforts by the guard borders and local authorities are continuing because that topic involves the national security and the sovereignty of Iraq.”
