Strong quake hits Iran’s Lorestan, Ilam, Khuzestan provinces near Iraqi borders

Baghdad(IraqiNews.com) A strong earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Iranˈs three western provinces of Lorestan, Ilam and Khuzestan provinces on Monday morning.

According to IRNA “The Seismological center of Ilam province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 07:02 hours local time (0232 hours GMT).”

The epicenter of the quake was registered at longitude of 47.7 degrees and latitude of 32.7.

There has yet been no report on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake. /End/
